Terms of use

Updated on November 7, 2026

These terms apply to any use of findyourchords. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. For your personal data, see the privacy policy.

This page is a translation; the French version is the one that legally prevails.

1.The service

findyourchords analyzes an audio file: it isolates the guitar, detects the chords, tempo and strumming, then produces a PDF chord sheet and an animated video. The service is free, ad-free, and lives on its users' donations.

2.Your account

You need an account to start an analysis, not to open a shared result. You can sign up with an email address and a password, or with your Google account.

You give an accurate email address, keep your password to yourself and are responsible for what is done from your account. One account per person.

The service is meant for people aged 15 or over. Younger users need the consent of a parent or guardian.

You can delete your projects, and your account itself, at any time from the studio (your account menu, top right): your projects and their tracks are then erased along with it.

3.The songs you upload

Only upload files you have the right to use: your own recordings, royalty-free songs or songs you have permission for, or songs used in a strictly personal and private way allowed by the law that applies to you. You alone are responsible for the files you upload.

You allow us to copy and process them only to provide the service: analysis, guitar isolation, playback. We claim no rights over them, we don't publish them and we don't use them to train models.

Audio tracks (the original song and the isolated guitar) are deleted automatically after 30 days. The analysis (chords, chart, fingerings) stays in your account until you delete it.

Each result has a share link: anyone who has it can see the analysis and listen to the tracks while they exist. Don't publish that link if the song isn't yours.

4.The results

Chords, tempo, rhythm and fingerings are detected automatically. They may be incomplete or wrong: check them by ear. Their accuracy is not guaranteed.

A chord sheet or video made from a copyrighted song is for your personal use only: don't publish, distribute or sell it without the rights holders' consent.

5.What is not allowed

  • uploading content that is unlawful, or that you have no right to use;
  • getting around the limits (number of analyses, file size), creating accounts in bulk or automating uploads;
  • trying to access other users' data, or disrupting the service;
  • reselling access to the service or its results.

If these terms are breached, access may be suspended or the account deleted, with notice to you where possible.

6.Availability

The service is provided as is, on a best-effort basis. It may be interrupted for maintenance, limited (currently 10 analyses per account per 24 hours, 30 MB and 10 minutes per file) or changed. Should it shut down, this would be announced on the site at least 30 days in advance, so you can save your chord sheets.

7.Liability

findyourchords is a free, personal project. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect damage related to using the service, an interruption, data loss or an error in the results. Keep a copy of what matters to you: the PDF can be downloaded.

8.Donations

Donations are voluntary and optional. They give no right to anything in return, no advantage on the site and no tax deduction (findyourchords is not a charity). They are collected by Ko-fi, under its own terms. If something went wrong, write to londasaxel@gmail.com.

9.Changes

These terms may change along with the service. The update date is at the top of the page; significant changes are announced on the site.

10.Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. In case of disagreement, first write to londasaxel@gmail.com to find an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute will go before the competent courts; if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.
